Everyday Living

Inspiration is a vital part of life. Being inspired is what gets us out of bed each day and ready for another challenge and another success. There are many ways to get inspired, and one of my favorite and most fun ways is through animation.

Animated movies are so well done these days. They tell a great story for kids and for adults. They offer so much more though than just a basic story.

If I am having a challenging day, I laugh when the song Just Keep Swimming comes into my mind (just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming – from Finding Nemo). Such a simple and easy way to decide to shift my thinking and laugh it off.

What do you need a little extra of today? Here are 17 fun options to get inspired: 1. Discipline -- watch Kung Fu Panda. 2. Belief in self – Kung Fu Panda, Happy Feet. 3. Determination & Perseverance – Madagascar, Finding Nemo, Tangled, Lion King. 4. Strong friendship / family – Finding Nemo, Frozen, Tarzan. 5. Thinking outside the box – Horton Hears a Who, Bee Movie. 6. Spirited nature – Mulan, Spirit. 7. Pushing comfort zone – Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo. 8. Mindset shift – Finding Nemo, Lion King. 9. Don’t sweat the small stuff – Lion King. 10. Team / Trust – Ice Age, Toy Story, Ratatouille, Monsters University. 11. Go for your dreams – Tangled, Aladdin, Up. 12. Play / Never lose your childlike spirit – Peter Pan. 13. Voicing yourself – Little Mermaid, Lion King. 14. Never give up – Cars, Finding Nemo, Kung Fu Panda, the Fox & the Hound. 15. One person makes all the difference – Fern Gully, Wall-E. 16. Dare to be different – Toy Story, Mulan, Shrek. 17. Remember your humbleness – Cars.

The overall theme in all of them seems to be stay true to yourself. Are you doing that? It can be a life changing question, if you let it be.

The best part of this Inspiration Project is that you can do it with your children and grandchildren. You can learn, have fun, and get inspired together.
